Engineering with Kord
The vendor revised the pump. Your datasheet didn't hear about it.
Vendor prints arrive on the shop's schedule, get a Code 1 or Code 2 stamp, and then quietly stop matching the datasheet that specified them. Here's where that mismatch hides and how to close it before the spool won't fit.
Forty-seven comments and one Excel file
A customer review comes back as dozens of comments spread across marked-up PDFs and a spreadsheet log. Checking a comment off in the log while the file never gets the fix is easy, and so is missing a markup entirely. The hard part isn't fixing forty-seven comments. It's proving every fix made it into the revision you shipped.
The field is building to Rev 4. Engineering is on Rev 6.
'Issued for Construction' is supposed to mean everyone's building the same drawing. On a moving project the field can be two revisions behind the model without anyone noticing until the steel's up.
The calc sheet changed. Nobody diffed it.
The spreadsheets hold the numbers the drawings quote. Send only PDFs to review and a changed formula or a retyped cell stays invisible until someone on site asks why the valve doesn't match the calc.
Kord vs PTC Windchill for engineering document review
Windchill manages CAD data, product structures, and change notices. Kord is the review layer for engineering document sets like P&IDs, datasheets, calc sets, and submittal packages.
The technology is yours. The project isn't.
Your core technology gets engineered into other companies' plants, and every deployment needs its own document package. Kord keeps each package forked, reviewed, and consistent, submittal after submittal.
Your P&ID still says 150 psig
Change one pressure spec and the rest of the package is supposed to follow. Usually one document doesn't. Here's how the old number survives all the way to the customer's desk, and how to catch it before it does.
Kord vs Siemens Teamcenter for document-set review
Teamcenter manages parts, BOMs, and CAD lifecycle. Kord is the review layer for engineering document sets like SLDs, datasheets, equipment lists, and interface definitions.
You sell a standard product. Every site is still a project.
You sell a standardized plant, battery block, or process module, and every deployment still behaves like a one-off project. Kord keeps each site's document set forked from the base design, reviewed, and tracked.
You forked the folder. The tags didn't follow.
Copying a base design for a new site takes an afternoon. Renaming four hundred equipment tags across P&IDs, datasheets, line lists, and calcs is where base-design programs quietly lose their margin.
Kord vs Arena PLM for engineering document review
PTC Arena is a PLM for regulated products and teams that track every bolt, washer, and gasket. Kord is the review layer for engineering teams working FEED studies and organizing transmittals.
Rev C is approved. Which Rev C?
Approval stamps look final. On a live project they routinely cover different file revisions, half-finished discipline sign-offs, and a PDF that was exported Tuesday while the source kept changing Wednesday.
The redlines never made it back to the drawing.
The real master is the marked-up print on someone's desk. When field redlines never get rolled into the controlled set, the as-builts are fiction and the next project inherits it.
Kord vs Bentley ProjectWise for engineering document review
Bentley ProjectWise is the engineering common data environment (CDE) for EPC and infrastructure, handling controlled document management, versioning, and file references. Kord is the visual review layer for mixed-format submittal packages, with diffs across every format, structured review sessions, and AI cross-document consistency checks before release.
Kord vs Oracle Aconex for engineering submittals
Aconex tracks transmittals and project correspondence. Kord shows what changed between revisions, with visual diffs, structured review sessions, and AI consistency checks across the whole document set.
Kord vs Adobe Acrobat for engineering document review
Adobe Acrobat handles PDF markup and compare. Kord manages entire engineering document sets, with version control, multi-format visual diffs, structured reviews, and AI consistency checks.
Kord vs Bluebeam for engineering document review
Bluebeam is for PDF markup. Kord manages entire engineering document sets, with visual diffs, structured review sessions, version control, and AI consistency checks across P&IDs, specs, and submittals.
Kord vs SharePoint for engineering document version control
SharePoint stores files and counts versions. Kord shows what changed and tracks who reviewed it. Keep SharePoint; add the audit-worthy review layer.
