Use Kord to keep vendor data and your design in sync

You issue a pump datasheet: flow, head, nozzle sizing, motor details, and more. A vendor bids and wins, and gives you a GA drawing and a performance curve. You get as-measured values a few months later, meaning you now have three sets of pump information.

Couple problems - where do you store the original bid documents, what documents reference which set of pump data, when were those documents updated, and can you quickly find the differences from one set to the next? Vendor data drifts

Designs are always being updated - you push new requirements to a vendor, they run into unexpected issues, and tested performance is always a bit different from the simulations. There's no getting around this, and your challenge is to keep the design moving forwards.

How many engineering hours does each change consume? Pushing off updates to a new folder just means that people will read the original and make mistakes, while rigid systems can take an hour just in coordinating between engineering, procurement, and doc control.

Mismatches cost money and time

Each project phase multiplies the cost of a mistake by 10X - early design to detailed design to fabrication to construction to operation. Changing a line size on a P&ID is easy, re-fabricating a spool when the pump moved by 2 inches is expensive. Finding and highlighting discrepancies early saves time and money. It only happens if you have clear and easy ways to check for changes.
