What the comparison shows
What you get on screen once both files are in, and why each piece is there:
- The decks side by side. Both revisions rendered and compared, so a changed slide is something you see rather than something you hunt for.
- Changes in content, not just order. An edited value on a table slide is a different thing from a reordered agenda, and the comparison lets you tell them apart.
- A link for the room. Share the comparison before the meeting, so the review spends its hour on the changes rather than on finding them.

Is it free?
Yes. No account, no trial clock, no watermark. The tool exists because we build Kord, version control for engineering document sets, and a diff you can run in ten seconds explains the product faster than any brochure.
Do my decks get stored?
Processing depends on the format and view. Kord uses browser rendering and server-side extraction or conversion, with temporary uploads and cached results. Creating a share link retains the files for that link’s lifetime. See Security for the details.
What is the size limit?
25 MB per file. Larger Office files are routed through a short-lived upload behind the scenes, so a 20 MB workbook behaves the same as a 2 MB one.
Our design reviews run on decks. Can the review itself live somewhere?
Kord runs structured review sessions on document sets - the deck, the calc sheet behind slide 12, and the drawings it summarizes - with comments, verdicts, and an audit trail tied to release. This diff is the free corner of that.
Can an AI agent or a script create a comparison link?
Yes, with no sign-in. POST the two files to https://work.withkord.com/api/diff/share as multipart fields named before and after; the JSON response carries a url that renders the comparison for anyone who opens it, for seven days (ttlDays sets it, up to 30). The two files are kept only until the link expires. Files over about 4 MB together go through an upload step first - the full contract is in Kord's OpenAPI document at https://work.withkord.com/openapi.json.
When two files aren't the real problem
A one-off diff answers a one-off question. If your team compares PowerPoint decks every revision cycle - and the revision that matters sits next to drawings, specs, and calc sheets that have to agree with it - that is the job Kord exists for: version control on the whole document set, this same visual comparison between any two revisions, and review sessions with sign-off before anything is issued.
